Replaced the rear shocks today, one of the easiest jobs on a Firehawk yet I think. LOL

Replaced mine as well but the front bilsteins i took to a shop so they could install them and i think i hear a popping noise in the from shock area after getting my car back, when i go over bumps. Am i hearing stuff or? Its not a daily driver so i cant pinpoint it

How many miles did you have when you replaced these? Were you having any issues? How long should the "stock" bilstein's last?
Thanks
Justin

Justin, I have 60,000 miles on mine and I could hear a squeak in the right rear. I serviced the differential and noticed fluid coming out of the right rear shock. It did not ride bad, but is even better now and no squeaking. Shocks are variable in how long they last, depending on how long the vehicle sits, how and where you drive, etc.,
Good Luck,

You have 2 choices with the Bilstiens.........You can get just the regular Bilstien HD's almost anywhere, or you can get the SLP spec'd Bilstiens thru SLP. I believe SLP still has them available, I just bought a set last summer, you will probably just need to call SLP.

I think you can call BILSTEIN for the Hawk shocks. I don't remember the differences between Bilstein for f-body and Bilstein for SLP fbodys????

I have been led to believe ( and maybe wrongly so, I'm not real sure) that the Bisteins produced for SLP were spec'ed by SLP and had different dampening and rebound from Bilstien's stock HD's and were "tuned" to work specifically with the Eibach springs and larger anti sway bars. If you're out there Dave, help us out on this one..............

You may be right. I think so too. Wait to morning and you'll have the answer. Mac will know. So will Wayne, Bob, Kelly, Brian etc.
