Pilot Cars

Post by Alhawk » Fri Dec 20, 2019 6:58 pm

I am a new forum member. I recently acquired a '94 Firehawk number 434 and riveted to the ashtray is a plaque that reads, "Pilot No. 006" and on the top of the plaque is written 1995 Firehawk. I am confused, I know the car is a '94 so why does the plaque say '95. Anyone out there that can shed some light? Thank you.

Can you post a picture of the plaque and car? I have a 1994 Firehawk Pilot Car #003. It was originally firehawk 321. Here is the picture of the dash plaque

When it was converted to a pilot car it received the new dash plaque the t/a graphics below, slp 1 3/4 headers and a 325hp rating, and ZR1 rims. It was considered a 1995 pilot, but the plaque Does not state the year. I know 3 of the pilots received the same modifications as mine. #1 was black, #2 was red.

Thank you. It sounds like the cars were built and then sent back to SLP to become Pilot cars. Am I correct in that assumption? I have the picture of the plaque in my phone and I am trying to figure out how to upload to this site but I am new to this. Stay tuned and thanks again.

I know the first 3 were, but I do not think all of them were originally firehawk then converted. I believe there were 12 total, 2 or 3 were 25Th anniversary editions. To upload pictures, you will need a hosting site like imgur.

Welcome to the Board.

I recall seeing this car for sale. It looks like a 1994 Formula which the Owner worked with SLP to have 1995 parts installed as a "pilot car".
Any other documents with the car?
